New AI-Powered Job Finder Launched for Vermonters
A new application has been unveiled to assist Vermonters in discovering and applying for jobs through innovative artificial intelligence technology. The Vermont Employment Pathfinder (VEP) is designed to connect users with suitable career opportunities by generating resumes, pinpointing relevant job openings, and facilitating the application process.
Founded in Brattleboro in 2022, VEP emerged from a collaborative effort between the Brattleboro Development Credit Corp. and the tech firm Skill Lab. The initiative aims to enhance the skills and income of marginalized and underemployed individuals.
At the launch event held on August 26th at the Old North End Community Center in Burlington, the creators of Vermont Employment Pathfinder emphasized the application’s significance for newcomers to the state, non-native English speakers, and first-time job seekers.
How Vermont Employment Pathfinder Works
The application engages job seekers through a structured interview process that gathers information about their professional history, educational background, skillset, and personal interests, such as hobbies and volunteer activities.
Using this personalized skill profile, the AI technology recommends potential career paths and identifies individual career goals. It focuses on suggesting sustainable job opportunities while also highlighting local educational and training programs to address any skills gaps. Furthermore, the AI’s capability to translate information into 28 languages makes the application highly accessible to a diverse user base.
Best of all, the Vermont Employment Pathfinder is free to all job seekers throughout the state, making it a valuable resource for those looking to improve their employment prospects.
