Clockwise Introduces AI Assistant Prism to Revolutionize Scheduling
Smart scheduling platform Clockwise is set to elevate its user experience with the launch of Prism, an AI-powered assistant designed to streamline calendar management. Prism enables users to resolve scheduling conflicts, manage bulk event creation or deletion, and transform to-do lists into organized calendar blocks through simple text prompts.
Similar to competing startups like Vimcal—backed by Y Combinator—and Reclaim, which was recently acquired by Dropbox, Clockwise primarily targets businesses while remaining accessible to individual users.
With Prism, users can input commands to quickly create calendar events. For example, typing “Create a link to schedule a meeting with Severian next week” automatically generates a shareable link indicating your availability. If the proposed time conflicts with an existing event, Prism will suggest alternative time slots for the meeting.
In addition to facilitating easy scheduling, Prism allows users to share a link containing suggested meeting times for other attendees to respond to, which also highlights any potential scheduling conflicts.
For urgent meetings, Prism can analyze team members’ calendars to find the most suitable time and automatically rearrange any conflicting appointments.
Users can also integrate tasks from their to-do lists into their calendars and adjust them on-the-fly if they enter a meeting unexpectedly. Moreover, if someone needs to schedule similar meetings with multiple people, a prompt such as “Schedule 15 minute one-on-ones with Frank, Robin, Nami, and Tony” will execute the task seamlessly.
Commands like “Reschedule my afternoon” or “Clear my Monday morning” further enhance user efficiency by allowing quick rearrangements of tasks.
Matt Martin, CEO of Clockwise, explained to TechCrunch that the company has developed a unique scheduling engine that interprets natural language queries, identifies conflicts, and determines optimal timings. “I’ve seen many startups naively try to connect LLMs directly to Google Calendar APIs, which often results in inadequate performance beyond basic scenarios,” Martin remarked. “We’ve dedicated seven years to building the most sophisticated scheduling engine, which is what empowers Prism to reliably and swiftly find the best slots for meetings and tasks.”
Clockwise is making Prism available free of charge to all its users and is concurrently working on deeper integration with Google Calendar and improved support for weekly schedules.
