“Many organizations see AI as a possible replacement for developers,” Nashawaty noted. “However, AI alone isn’t the solution. Without proper code review, AI-generated code could introduce security vulnerabilities.”
There’s also a significant push toward consolidating DevOps tools into unified platforms. This shift aims to simplify workflows, given that developers currently spend only about 24% of their time actually writing code. By integrating tools, organizations can free up time for developers to focus on more value-driven tasks.
Nashawaty projects that by 2025, about 50% of enterprises will embrace these consolidated DevOps solutions. Yet, he stresses the importance of seamlessly incorporating security into these tools for them to truly be effective.

The urgency for adopting DevSecOps practices is growing, but there’s still a significant gap in full adoption. Poller pointed out, “Over 60% of organizations are making strides to embed DevSecOps as a fundamental practice, but why isn’t that number higher? Security needs to be part of the conversation from the very beginning.”
In today’s environment, where threats are ever-increasing and compliance regulations are tightening, organizations have no choice but to evolve their security measures. Those who prioritize security within their DevOps frameworks will be better equipped to mitigate risks and maintain software resilience.

“We’re at a pivotal moment where security, AI, and application development have to come together,” Nashawaty concluded. “Companies that prioritize security from the outset will find themselves in a strong position for success in 2025 and beyond.”
