He stated, "With today’s announcement of AI server manufacturing in India, we complete Lenovo’s pocket-to-cloud technologies ‘Made in India’ for the world." The focus of the Infrastructure R&D Lab on next-generation mainstream servers showcases Lenovo’s dedication to creating innovative technology solutions from India for global markets.
Production Capacity Boost
Additionally, Lenovo has commenced the manufacturing of AI servers at its established facility in Puducherry. This production line, operational since 2005, will now expand its portfolio to include enterprise-level AI and GPU servers tailored for AI workloads. The Puducherry plant, capable of producing around 50,000 enterprise AI rack servers and 2,400 high-end GPU units annually, is geared towards fulfilling the growing demand for AI infrastructure. Notably, over 60% of these servers are destined for export to the Asia-Pacific region.
The facility will produce a diverse range of five key offerings, which include three rack-mounted enterprise AI servers and two top-of-the-line 8-way GPU servers. These next-gen solutions are expected to catalyze substantial growth for Lenovo’s operations in India over the coming year.
