Exciting times are ahead for five remarkable robotics teams from Livingston County as they head to the renowned FIRST in Michigan State Championship starting today!
Out of 528 robotics teams statewide, these local rising stars secured their spots in the finals after impressive showings in district qualifier events. The participating teams include:
- #3536 Electro Eagles, Hartland Consolidated Schools
- #3668 TroBots, Whitmore Lake Public Schools
- #4776 S.C.O.T.S. Bots, Howell Public Schools
- #7056 The F.A.S.T Team, Fowlerville Community Schools
- #7220 Steel Falcons, Livingston Christian Schools
One proud parent, Stephanie Shinabery, who has a child on Team #7220, shared her excitement: “Our county has done an amazing job; we have five teams that made it to states.” With only seven members on her child’s team, the dedication and teamwork are particularly commendable!
The competition kicks off today and will run through Saturday at Saginaw Valley State University, where over 160 of the top teams from Michigan will assemble. They’re all vying for a chance to advance to the FIRST Championship, set to take place from April 16th to 19th in Houston, Texas. Talk about a thrilling opportunity!
As these young innovators prepare to demonstrate their skills, the community comes together in support of their achievements and aspirations. The journey through robotics not only teaches engineering and technology but fosters teamwork, problem-solving, and friendship—the very essence of what it means to create and collaborate.
This weekend promises to be an unforgettable experience as Livingston County showcases its talent on the state stage. Let’s rally behind our local heroes and cheer them on!
