According to Michael Tam, UBTech’s chief brand officer, the company is set to deliver between 500 and 1,000 units of its cutting-edge Walker S Series industrial humanoid robots this year. Key customers include prestigious names like car manufacturers, electronics giant Foxconn, and logistics powerhouse SF Express. These partnerships signify UBTech’s commitment to bridging the gap between automation and human labor.

Tam emphasized that though the ultimate goal is to "bring humanoid robots into every family," the company is currently focused on the industrial sector. Tam pointed out that factories are increasingly desperate for solutions to combat workforce shortages, making humanoid robots a timely answer to a pressing problem.

The Factory First Approach

Why focus on factories rather than homes? Tam explains that factories provide a simpler and more stable environment for humanoid robots to operate and learn. Presently, these robots might not be "smart enough" to perform effectively in a home setting. The controlled environment of industrial sites allows for more effective training and development.

This approach not only strengthens UBTech’s position in the market but also assures companies that the robots can manage tasks that would otherwise strain their human workforce.
